I am out of the building for 2 days with a kidney stone and all the kids start acting like chickens without heads. Runnin' amuck - changin' seats - wastin' precious time. What?????????????? I don't understand why my presence has to be there for my scholars to act like scholars. I am trying to teach Cody right now that the way he lives his life when I'm not watching is what will define his character. Does he want to be a boy who discreetly prevaricates? Or does he want to be a boy who respects limits and follows the rules? He is going to learn very soon that he may sneak something and get away with it momentarily but when the moment is over he will have lost far more than he thought he gained. Notice the picture of Cody "workin" as he calls it. TV off, magazine in hand. Maybe next time he will think twice about watching a TV show he knew I didn't want him to see!
So my question to you is this: How do you live your life when noone's watching? Have you ever been caught doing something you knew was wrong but were hoping to get away with? Was it worth it?
