Day #3.17 - Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Oops.

If you read my blog yesterday it was all about Cody forgetting something yet again.  How, I wonder, does a child who just scored advanced on both his MSA's, shut his locker at the end of the day with his homework binder still inside?

I guess the same way this highly educated, hard-working mother leaves her house with her purse hanging on her bedroom door.  No coffee today - no credit cards.  No text messaging today - no phone.  Hope I don't get pulled over - no ID.

I realized I didn't have it when I was almost to school.  I said my infamous soft-spoken "#$@!" under my breath when I figured out what I had done.  But, it wasn't soft enough - Cody heard it and knew just what it meant.  "Mom - did YOU forget something?"

I try not to lie so I came clean and said, "Yes. I left my purse at home which means I'm without money, ID and my phone".  "Huh," Cody says with an aire of superiority.  "I guess that means that it was YOU who didn't stand at the door asking yourself if you had everything.  You know Mom, we can't always be perfect."
