Drained.
Defeated.
Just give me a D for the day .... these are all the emotions I feel after seeing my AVID 12 class on the last day of the second quarter. A picture is worth a thousand words - which is why I believe this photo should be called speechless. Here is just one of several empty folders representing the amount of work my students put into their own futures and the amount of respect they have for me and this program. The folders should be stuffed with documentation of college and scholarship applications. Yet even though I hand them the gift of time everyday, even though I sat with students AND their parents saying that by the end of 2nd quarter, January 28th, I would expect documentation of 5 college and 5 scholarship applications, the folders are dry.
I want to celebrate the successes but they seriously come so less often than the frustrations that I lose sight of them.
Here's another D word for you ... Done.
Im sorry if i made you mad in class today. I feel bad because i know you care for our future and im not putting my best foot first!! I promise i will make a big turn around!! You care about my future and i will make you proud!!
