Let is snow, let it snow, let is snow!
Today was our first snow fall of the 2009 Christmas season. The snowflakes were heavy and large, so with now time at all, the earth was covered with a white blanket. The roads were treacherous when I left Saturday school. On my way to get Cody from his dad there were several accidents and I literally had to pull over 4 times for different emergency vehicles. I was supposed to go stay at the Greenberg's so that Lisa could go to an event with her mom at their synagogue but the snow kept us all from that playdate.
What does the first snow remind you of each year? I remember sledding and snow forts. I remember the blizzard of 77 back in Michigan. The only way people could get out to get groceries was by snowmobile. Some families were without power and heat. We couldn't see out our windows because the lake effect winds drifted the snow over our windows and doors. We heard that some people were trapped inside their homes because the doors wouldn't open. People were climbing out windows and being picked up by snowmobiles to go to work. I don't remember being scared until I heard that the snow was caving in people's roofs. I started dreaming of being suffocated by snow.
