Labor Day ...
A day without labor. What a blessing this holiday is after working for 2 weeks like a packed mule.
Today I didn't leave the house. Cody's dad actually came to pick him up, took him to the zoo and brought him back. Not sure what all that was about but I'll be grateful and count Cody's blessings.
While he was gone I mowed the grass imagining the day when Cody is old enough to do it for me and the arguments we will have over it. I'll want him to do it on a certain day and a certain way and he will have a different day and a different way in mind. I hope he will be the type of teenager who takes on his share of the household chores with a happy heart - that he looks at it as a way to help his overworked mother. Only time will tell I guess.
I also put away probably 7 loads of laundry that have been piling up for weeks. At the bottom of the stack I actually found the unpacked bag I took to PA and NC before school started. That trip ended on August 17th. I can't believe I let that bag sit there for that long .... but at least now my house is in order and I feel rested once more.
