Project 365: Day 50 - Mon. July 6th, 2009

I think that this gives new meaning to the phrase TRAILER TRASH. Welcome to my new home for the next 5 weeks - Trailer 2. Owings Mills calls them Learning Communities. I say call it what it is - one trashy trailer. I walked in and the half-dollar size bug that was lying on its back (couldn't even look at it long enough to take a picture of it) the desks still full of trash from who knows when, the layer of filth on all the desks, and a floor that looked like it hadn't been mopped since the 80's all gave me the heebie jeebies. I walked right back out, drove to New Town and grabbed my cleaning supplies - especially the gloves left over from our rodent ruckus. After high powered, fast action cleaning, the creepy crawlies left me and I settled in to my fate for the next five weeks. I sat and wondered what that trailer will look like after our five weeks together. If I have anything to do with it, it will be filled with student artifacts that prove my kids have read, reacted, and reflected on something new.
