After they left I was completely unmotivated to unpack and clean up. So I went up to Cody's room, crawled back in his bed and read the last few chapters of John Grisham's The Last Juror. I am trying to devour as many books as I can before I start teaching summer school and my next online graduate course. It wasn't long before Cody arrived. He immediately asked for the bag from the gift shop where his Nannie had spoiled him for his birthday. It wasn't long before he was reenacting yet another battle in our backyard--this time with new revolutionary gadgets. With compass in hand, gunpowder flask over his shoulder, and his trusty patriot hat and rifle, he was ready to find and fight the British.
Thanks to the Maryland Writing Project, this meaningful year long activity is going to help my AVID seniors remember not just bits and pieces of their senior year, but bits and pieces of each DAY of their senior year. Here you will find my photos and thoughts for the next 365 days. I am certain this will be one of the most rewarding projects my students and I do. First a click of the camera, then the happy clicking of my keyboard. Let the journey begin...
