Project 365: Day 15 - Mon. June 1st, 2009

Today is the day the AVID Project 365 officially begins so I took a picture of me taking a picture. The photo actually looks like my eyes are part of the camera. The symbolism is easy to spot. I hope the lense and the writing allows me clearer vision ... allows me to see people in new light, see things to which my mind and eyes may have been closed, see life with a clearer viewpoint.

I am prayerful that my students will not come to school tomorrow with excuses but rather enthusiasm to share...the places this photo journey will take each of us is endless. I hope it is a journey that leads to an increased self-awareness. I hope 30 years from now when my kids find these journals in a box in an attic they remember the powerful force of AVID and all our incredible memories.

Let the clicking begin!...................

  1. It's interesting how an image or words from the past can change how you see or read something in the present.

I actually chuckled when I saw the picture at first...NOT because of you, don't worry, but I thought to myself, "That would make a pretty funny post on failblog.org...it could be titled 'Self Portrait Fail' or something." Don't worry - I'd never do something like that, especially given who it is and the subject of the blog it's in.
